TMJTreatment

Medical neuromodulator treatment for TMJ-related jaw tension, planned separately from cosmetic forehead work.

TMJ Treatment

Overview

What is TMJ treatment with botulotoxin?

TMJ Treatment is performed with Botox, Dysport, Jeuveau, or Xeomin — we choose the product for your anatomy, history, and how you want to move. When jaw pain and clenching are muscle-driven, neuromodulator treatment of the masseter (and sometimes related muscles) can be part of a medical plan.

This is mapped to this area rather than a full-face default. The goal is a specific change, not a frozen face.

This treatment

Masseter and other mapped muscles involved in your TMJ picture. This is not a substitute for dental or specialist care when those belong first.

Your visit

Your provider reviews goals and movement, then maps injection points before cleansing the skin. Small amounts are placed with a fine needle; most visits take 15–20 minutes.

Avoid rubbing or lying flat for several hours, and skip strenuous exercise the rest of the day. We typically see you back around two weeks if a refinement is needed.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about this treatment — your provider will cover anything specific to you at consultation.

How is TMJ treatment different from a regular Botox visit?

This is a medical visit for jaw tension. We still use Botox, Dysport, Jeuveau, or Xeomin, but we plan around pain and function — and we refer when a dentist or specialist should lead.

How long does it last?

Most patients see about three to four months of effect. Consistent treatment makes maintenance more predictable; it does not make results permanent.

Will I look frozen?

Not if we dose for this area and your movement. We preserve expression on purpose and would rather add units at a two-week follow-up than overdo the first visit.
